This wall hanging, titled "People in the Lord of the Dance",
was created with oil pastels on canvas in 1983.
Wiseman completed a preparatory ink drawing of
"People in the Lord of the Dance" as well as nine coloured, segmented,
life-size works, which preceded the large hanging.
It depicts life in the Wiseman Choreographic Community.
The WCC lived in a former church in the Dunbar area of Vancouver.
"I was concerned at the time with paraliturgical dance. I designed an everyday costume or habit made of coloured denim. I then made a costume for each wearer/model/monk in a different colour, which I chose. They are depicted in the large wall hanging 'People in the Lord of the Dance'."
