In 1988, Padam created this painting in response to the uncertain approach the general public had in dealing with the HIV/AIDS virus that had recently come to world attention. In the beginning there was some talk of the possibility of isolating victims of this disease as they had done with leprosy for years before science eventually came to the rescue. This meditation art work allows the viewer to have the ‘in’ experience with a louvered view of the outer world.
