Following his work with Ballet Horizons, Wiseman joined the Staatstheater
in Darmstadt Germany in 1973, where he was Ballet Master for the Tanztheater
and Opera Ballet.
It was during this time that the Wiseman Technique
was conceptualized.
He developed and tested it there with international dancers, one of whom, Evan Jones, went on to teach this technique in his native Brisbane Australia.

In Germany, Wiseman met Evan Jones, a professional
dancer from Australia, who was performing as a soloist in Darmstadt
at the Opera House. Jones became a partner, student and model of Wiseman.
Jones returned to Darmstadt, where he resided for several years as
Ballet Master. Jones is currently lecturing and teaching in the dance
faculty of Queensland
University of Technology,
Brisbane Australia, Creative Industries Faculty. The portrait
of Evan Jones (right) was painted in Vancouver, in 1979.
In1973 in Germany, Wiseman completed a self portrait (left). This
painting was inspired by the work of Albrecht Durer. He also produced
a coloured ink painting of this Russian church (above), in Hessen
Darmstadt with its domes catching the wintery sunlight - a favourite
place to relax. |
